Well if we all pitched in ..... there was what ... 65,000 or so S2k's in the US? If only half of those are around and belong to enthusiasts .. it would only be about $333 each! lol

The Oregon desert qualifies as a "good retirement spot?" I got sun burned just looking at the aerial photos.

Close-ish to Bend, and it's a nicer high desert than the other deserts I've been looking at.

Even then, if I've got money for a racetrack, I've got money for a compound a small cult to run the race track.

We were going to see and shoot the 8/17 solar eclipse from near there, but our group decided instead on Salem. It was the best chance for clear weather along the path of totality across the US. Boy, did they get that right!
