Anyone else follow sailing? I'm trying to keep track of The Race. Web coverage so far is pretty spotty.

The Race is an around the world non-stop sail race. The field is made up of 6 100 foot long mega-catermarans. Steve Fossett is the captain of one boat. It kicked off 12/31 from Barcelona Spain.

I thought that one of the ESPN networks was covering it. Those boats are amazing. There was a story on one of the network news magazine shows. Standard fluff bit but very interesting.

 

Wow! These boats are just a bit more sophisticated than the 16' and 18' Hobie Cats that I used to own!

I love catamarans!
