I realize that post completely flew in the face of our discussion in you "100 days" thread, Justin, but I couldn't resist. I love that smiley!

My first car was a 72 Valiant Charger with a 265ci Hemi inline 6.
To start the car you had to pop the bonnet (hood) and play around with the Carbie before you could try and crank it over.

I know... It's so true. We quickly forget that cars didn't used to start every time you turned the key. And, climate control used to be something of a euphemism!

Climate control was whether to wind the window down all the way or half way wasn't it ????

Until they started putting .... wait for it ..... sunroofs in cars

That was if you were lucky enough to have a car that had windows that actually worked.

The best bit was when my window crank died I went down to a salvage yard and bought another complete door for $50 and solved the problem.

Don't think that's gonna happen on a classic Porsche!

The space behind the headlights in my mini were packed with stones and wood to make them point vaguely at the road after my brother in law ran into the back of a car and caved the front of mine in !!!

It wasn't worth having repaired, so we just did what we could to stop the headlights pointing at the ground 6 inches in front of the car
