I reached the highway with about 980 break-in miles behind me. My wife was in the lead in the Volvo. The three lane highway we were on became very sparsely populated. Downshift into 3: 40MPH, 50, 60, 70??? When do I have to shift this thing?

By the time I actually let up, I was well over 100 (I won't say how far), my wife was GONE (I'd warned her I might do this a few times along the way). Various times during the ride (both down and back to Cape Cod), I was seriously in VTEC-land. Never quite to 9 grand, but definitely 8.

Anyway, I most certainly did rev the tits off it, James! How you can actually do this going to the supermarket, though, is a little hard to envision. I'm afraid if you explain it to me, I might get into even more trouble than I'm already certain is in my future with this car

Best wishes, James.

Well, I must admit that I scare myself sometimes , hitting VTEC land in 1st and 2nd isn't so difficult on the drive to the supermarket, but you do need to keep your concentration levels up when trying it

Good morning, Charlie (Charles? Chuck? Chaz?)

A good weekend? How many miles did you get on your S?

Hi Martin,

Charlie or Chazmo will do just fine! "Chazmo" is just a nickname which has stuck since college. Amalgam of Chas and "Satchmo" -- Louis Armstrong. I am a trumpet player too, though the comparison to Satchmo is a joke.

It was a great weekend!! Trip to and from Cape Cod. From my house, that's about 250 miles round-trip to Yarmouthport. Not a lot, but enough highway to stretch my legs a bit! I guess the odo's around 1200 or so now.

Not a single other S2000 in view this weekend. I was really hoping to see someone to wave to, but no joy. These cars are really rare out here. How was yours, Martin?

Love VTECland... I want to be mayor. I've hit 9k in all of the first 4 gears: 1st-43mph*, 2nd-65, 3rd-90 and 4th-115 (roughly for these speeds).

Woohoo.

Woohoo.

So glad break in behind you Chazmo. Have a ball. And I'm waving

Woohoo.
