Default cleaning?

when i went to jiffy lube they actually tested my battery (i learned that they are supposed to do this every time but don't) anyways they said that i'm going to need a new battery soon and said that i have some corrosion on the terminals. what do i use to clean that crap off. i've noticed that my car does not like to start like it struggles. i'm planning on getting a new battery in a few weeks but would still like to know what to use to clean it off. incase i don't need a new battery just a cleaning.

any parts store sell a cleaning and maint. kit for the battery, in all reality though the way it sounds, you may need a new battery. Also they do sell an anti corrosion spray that you can use on the new one to prevent it from happening in the future.

You could also get a bettery terminal cleaner. Its like a wire brush made specifically for batteries.

Use a regular wire brush to clean the terminals then smear some dielectric grease on the terminals. You may not need a new battery.

thanks. i just went to walmart to get an idea on how much they are and it's only 50 dollars so i think i'll just pick up a new battery and some of that grease. i looked at the stuff and it's a very faint greenish blue color and it looks to be only coming from the ground terminal. but thanks guys

coke will clean off the corrossion, and then wipe it clean with a rag.

I bought my battery from wal-mart also.

started up so much better than before. Of course my battery died when I was running errands.

i'd rather replace an almost dead battery then a dead battery and have to waste the gas to have someone pick me up and get me to walmart and then back to the car....and thinking of leaving the car on the side of the road just isn't an option...
