For looks and a proper way to mount harnesses is the cusco cage really that bad?
I hear mixed reviews to why its not allowed on US tracks, most common answer is because the cages are designed for RHD vehicles. Other than that the only other issue is the main parts to the cage are bolted where a more secure race cage is fully welded.
Say what you want about the Cusco cage, but ever see any pics of a car with a Cusco cage after an accident? Cage comes out 100% ok
My point isnt track safety... my point is that if its not allowed on the track then you cant have it in a track car... and a full cage with no padding is a bad idea in a street car because it makes all the other crashes besides a rollover much more dangerous (w/o a helmut and/or padding) and the other types of crashes are much more common... So... if he is just driving on the street any cage (especially an unpadded one) is a bad idea, and if hes taking it to the track he cant have the cusco... so what is the point in having it

Cusco cage is actually track legal in Japan.
Frank - I'm sure it was just informational, but the laws there have no bearing here. Its a senseless argument.
Gino's and Bombers arguments are legit.
