Default Got a flat this morning

Of course when its raining I would get a flat ... Hit a pothole on spring garden street it pinched my drivers front side wall and put a good knick in my wheel. I plan on getting a new set of 4 in the spring sometime as the tires on there still have some life left in them. Should I just get 4 new tires now? Or do I wait and just get a cheap tire for now and use up the rest of the tires on the car? It currently has Conti Extreme contacts and they get the job done, but was looking to get something with some more grip for next season. Any info on tire shops in the Philadelphia area and/or tire recommendations would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Be glad you at least carry a spare.

Cheap replacement for now? New set in Spring?

http://www.bestusedtires.com/ <----this place probably has an exact replacement with good tread for cheap.

Hankook R-S3?
Bridgestone RE11a?

The spare was a life saver this morning, now I have to think twice about taking it out after the roll bar goes in...

Not sure I was leaning towards R-S3's, but was also possibly looking at a square rpf1 setup by spring, or if I can find a set of ap2v3 rears going square that way. But have also considering pilot sports and Z2's as well.

I was thinking of looking for a used set to get me through the winter to see if any new tires/versions of tire come out towards the summer too. I just have not made my mind up on tires yet to be able to make the decision.

Edit: Just checked out that website they have the tire I need, for 85 shipped... I may be sold

Just take the new (used) tire and the wheel to the shop. $15 mounted and balanced.

Why does everyone want to go squared?

Glad it wasn't worse than a flat. Pinch front on an off ramp (assume a curve) could have been nasty.
i like your decision of new used tire now....you're about to park the car for the winter right?
New shoes in the spring sounds great....I'be had both pilot sports and Z2... .both great choices.
I'm waiting for late Dec/Jan to see if deals pop up on summer tires

If you daily why not put the money toward a set of winters and get full summers in the spring.

I ended up ordering it my friend is going to throw it on for me today

I want to go square to get a little more use out of my tires, being able to rotate is appealing to me. Also I've heard the grip benefits are significant even though you sacrifice some steering feel and a heavier steering.

I was making a left on to Spring Garden st with the rain and how dark it was I didn't see it coming. But yeah id rather go with the used for now so it doesn't sit on new tires all winter!

I was looking on tirerack yesterday they have a really good deal on the old BF rivals, I think I priced it out to around $550 for a 225/255 setup. Also want to wait and see if some deals pop up. Realistically though I probably wont be able to push any of the tires I mentioned to their limit (at least this season ) so I'll probably go with something that I can get a good deal on that has been tried and tested.

I would definitely go with winters if I was going to drive it but I only daily during the nicer months. I couldnt imagine being on summers through the winter

Which bar do you have? I am leaning towards Rockstar or HD double diag with rear lower harness bar and I'm not sure if it will fit after with the lower harness bar in. If I can keep it in the stock location I probably will as the car see's a lot of daily action during the nicer months.
