Default Got a speeding ticket in PA

So I got a speeding ticket in PA (Schuylkill Co) the other day. Cop said he'd reduce it to "failure to obey an officially posted speed limit sign". He told me there are no points associated with it, though the cost is $109.50

I want to know if it's true, that there are no points for this or if he's bullshitting me into paying it so that he can make his quota. Anyone else get a tic in PA like this?

Is it a 31 11 A? I am pretty sure that is the ticket they give you if they caught you doing something wrong but wanna be nice about it haha.

Warren,

I can't speak to this one in PA, however, for NJ - ANY out of state ticket, regardless of points in that state becomes a 2 Point "Out of State Ticket" on my NJ record.

What's up Warren!

Who issued you the ticket? Was it a PA State Trooper or a local yokel PD?

Does the ticket indicate by what means the officer determined your speed?

PA is actually pretty good about speeding violations because the state has laws that specifically prohibit 1) Issuing tickets as a means to generate revenue and 2) local PDs from using Radar or Laser speed guns.

If your record is clean other than this violation, go to court and ask for the ol' "Prayer for Judgement". This one goes away forever unless you get caught again in the next 3 years. Or get a local traffic lawyer for $400. Its cheaper than the points and insurance increase.

Not boasting, but been caught speeding 6 times and my record is clean.

best way around it is to fight it.....go to court and speak to the officer before the hearing...tell him your guilty but you cant afford the points but have no problem paying the fine..ive never met a cop that wont go for that on just a speeding ticket

^^^did that once too. It worked.

also went to court to fight a charge and was the 4th case in line. first three cases...DUI, DUI, DUI. I was there for a 39 in a 35 and the officer did not show up. Judge told me to slow down, and get out of his court room.
