Default help an idiot out

so i took out my drivers seat last night, only to find several plugs/modules underneath it. There were 4. the small one was connected to the seatbelt so the Driver Seatbelt Light goes on. I'm not really sure what the other ones are... is one part of the alarm (#3?). 2 of them looked like they were just grounded (# 1 and #2).

Wanted to put in an aftermarket seat but not sure what to do with these.

Looks like the alarm. You can download the manual from:

yes thats your alarm, i;m sure you can mount those to an aftermarket seat somehow, so it wouldnt be that big of a deal. If you went with an aftermarket alarm as well, you could eliminate the factory alarm all together.

excellent, thanks guys. im prob just gonna mount it on the other seat. as for the other 2 things, im gonna leave them unplugged and see what happens...

might even leave the alarm unplugged if it doesnt harm anything. the only person who sets off the alarm is me becuase i do stupid stuff like inadvertently manually unlock my car while the top is down etc...

Hmm... I don't think I have those other two on my '01 I'll try and remember to check this weekend if I get moment. I know the later cars have a sensor under the seat to enable the airbags or something like that.

The alarm was optional in 01, so if you don't have a factory alarm you wont have the big box.

ah you know what i just remembered. the dude who had my car first had some whacky cordless cellphone setup that was hidden under the passenger side dash, i showed it to Jeremy when i first got the car. it was some weird Nokia reciever, i have since ripped it all out...all of the wires were already cut and lead nowhere.

i wonder if this is where they grounded some of those wires.

looks like i will be removing all of them except the seatbelt one.. nice and simple /gino

1 and 2 are relays probably for the alarm door locks.
