Unhappy Help an s2ki'er Out

I posted back in May about coming up to NYC to find an appt. Well, I am still looking

At this point, I think Manhattan is just out of the question. I really liked Woodside in Queens and Long Island City.

Can anyone here lend some leads on any places available outside the city? I am looking for a 1bdrm or studio close to a subway. Parking is a plus. Anyone seen anything or live in a building with places for rent?

Thank you!
Alex

How much are you looking to spend? Have you considered Hoboken, it's a really nice town.

Well, a main concern for me is my GF is going to school in the city and needs to be able to get to school 4 days/week. I am looking to spend between 900-1200 now.

well woodside IMHO is not the safest place if you plan on parking your S unless you have a secure garage spot. try forest hills.. much better neighborhood. but then again with the price range you're looking at, it will be tough. some parts of bklyn are great too.. park slope, bensonhurst, bay ridge.

I've got a 2 bedroom for rent on 53rd st and 7th Ave in Brooklyn. I used to work at 51st and 6th Ave in the city and it's about a 35 min subway ride. Let me know if you're interested.
