Essi,
I applaude you on the efforts and I'll suggest a few things:
Seperate the 'Who's interested thread' from a discussion thread on ideas and the like. IMHO, it will be easier later to pull information out that you're looking for.
Talk to the following people via pm or somehow to get information on the undertaking. Zippy (who already posted), JFO, airgate, Rick Hesel, FF2Skip. They have all been involved in organizing large events. They can lay out some of the challenges and the like. Even just checking the Dragon, Nor-Easter, Fall Colors and Spring Fling previous threads out there may give you some details to help with.

I'm in. I like the lancaster area/idea. I'm sure Mid-A would be interested in a meet like this. East Coast Honda Meet is always a topic of interest there. An East Coast S2000 Meet is sure to draw a crowd.

The reason we never got one of these meets off of the ground is the location. If your planning an East Coast mega meet, where do you have it and what is there for everyone to do? The reason home coming is so successful is because majority of the members there are from the areas and that meet has something to offer. For us to pull something off like that we would have to rent a track for the weekend or have a dealership somehow sponsor the meet.
One thing I know for sure is that a meet of this caliber could not take place in PA or NJ. The locations I think that would work are up north in the CT area, or down south in VA or even as far as FL. Like I said, for people to come you have to give them something (make them feel value for the meet).
The closest thing we ever had to a mega meet was Fall Colors, but look where that ended up. Like I said, this is a great idea but it will take alot of planning and thought.

I'd be in. I'm both Mid A and Upstate NY and think a lot of people would want to do this potentially.
If somehow you get to be as big as Homecoming in the years to come and need a larger place, there is a great place in Central NY to have a large gathering (unfortunatley its a bit of a hike for people south of PA/MD border, but not 3000 miles haha).
The Syracuse Nationals are held at the Syracuse Fair grounds every year and holds upwards of 8000 Cars (in the Nationals case its Muscle, Classic, etc cars) plus the Adirondacks are close to Syracuse and some great drives can be held there.
Like i said though, its a bit of a hike unfortunately. you could also consider Carlyle PA, they have car shows there all the time.
