Default Need some help on a 30pmh over ticket

Now, I know there is no justification for going over 30 mph's in a 65, but I just came back from my sisters wedding. And we were all headed down to AC for a night of fun. Anywho, I got cited going 95 in a 65 in Middletown,NJ on the Parkway. My court date is this Wednesday and i've already hired a lawyer whos charging me 500 bucks. The ticket will be close too 600 bucks being that fines are doubled in a 65. Should I use the lawyer or just pay the fine? I'm also attending school full time in VA currently, so paying the ticket off would be the more reasonable thing to me. Being that I cannot make it there Wednesday. Any experiences? If you could throw me some feedback on what I should do, i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Damn hormones.

Definetly DO NOT pay the ticket. Use the lawyer to reduce the fine and offense. If you just pay the ticket, the $$ isn't going to kill you, the points will! 30mph over is like 4 or 5 points which is gonna devastate your insurance.

Pay the lawyer, fight the ticket, see what happens. Good luck!

If you have 4 or more points on your license you also get a surcharge on top of whatever your insurance goes up. I thinks its either $50 or $75 bucks a point. Fight the ticket and try and get the points as far reduced as you can.

with what has been said here. It's a lot of money but hiring a lawyer is a necessary evil in this case.

Work out a payment plan w/ the lawyer if you can to reduce the initial outlay of cash.

Good Luck.

Also, go to www.motorists.org and see what the lawyer's supposed to do for $500.

Usually, they do nothing but show up, talk to the prosecutor, and get you down to 2 points.

If they go at it the right way, they might get it dismissed. If you can't make the court date, have it rescheduled.
