Oh Canada!
ahahaha i know i know i just think its funny i'm really not trying to be a jerk just tryin to have fun with tom...
here's my point though...if that LCA was rubbin the wheel which it could have been since he was going high speed through a turn and the car was "planted" to the ground...could that not cause that wheel to grind on the LCA and cause the speed difference in the rear wheels to totally upset the car?? also wouldn't that grinding heat that tire up a crapload more than normal?
what if his lift oversteer was only made more dangerous by the wheel grinding on the LCA?
personally i'd like to blame the car not his skills as i know tom knows how to drive really good...

The bent knuckle had nothing to do with the spin. Purely coincidence. If you'll notice in the other thread, I marked the wheel were it was rubbing to see if would rub at Calabogie, and it never rubbed
The rubbing was caused by a combination of bent knuckle and extreme suspension loading in the bowl at Shenandoah.
Not to throw fuel on the fire...
But what do you think the lack of rear camber, caused by the bent knuckle, did to your handling?
It certainly didn't help your rear grip. Did you feel a balance difference, besides the spin of course?
Any estimates on the body work yet?
(Edit: Now that I think about it, you probably never had the factory balance because the upright was most likely bent when you got it...maybe next time out, it'll be a little less tail-happy)

didn't think of it that way but that is a point...
tom was used to a non balanced car...
i'm just glad everything is ok and tom didn't get hurt...but its something to think about...
right now my left rear wheel is completely unbalanced...somehow there was a nail in it and i didn't see it..and the mechanic who balanced the tire didn't see it...and he balanced it with the nail in...it was right inside a deep curved tread pattern so it was hard to see..
anyway after getting the tire plugged i feel it..the wheel weights are directly across from where the nail was in the tire... its weird because i know it upsets the handling so i havn't been pushing the car...i need to take care of that..
edit: NOTE: when i say i feel it...its not bad at all...and i bet half of the people here wouldn't be able to even feel the slight modulation..its not enough to make the car unsafe in any normal use but like i said i feel it..hehe

I'm w/ kill. I'll copy/paste what I posted in UTH.
The part was already compromised and Tom still decide to push that part to the extreme. He says the crash wasn't caused by the part but how does he know that for sure?
[QUOTE=tinkfist,Jun 1 2007, 02:27 PM] It broke from the impact.

ahaha don't make me crash and kill myself haha...right now my car is unbalanced...it oversteers really bad because of the narrow rear tires(and the left rear unbalance)...its fun but not good for racing
and since i don't have a BAUW like some people that try to drift it actually works without my car breaking hahahahaha where is ccmgr?!?!
i don't claim that i'm any good of a driver because i know i'm far from it. i'm tryin to learn but its hard with no track time and i'm not gonna kill myself on backroads tryin to be like initial d or some crap.
speaking of fall colors i really do want to come. i just don't know if i can take the monday off..i should be able to come for the weekend though.
and the reason i was so quick to judge was for the conversation..a lot of the points brought up by people give insight to things most people would look past. like a previous post said what if tom had the car like that from the start and learned to drive and control it with that instability back there. conversation is just that, things to think about, stimulation of the mind, without it we're just like the other monkeys.
