as for the mods... depending upon how mechanically inclined you are, some can be pretty easy, others you probably would need to take to a shop. depends on your skill level, tools, and how confindent you feel doing it.

there's a whole bunch of do-it-yourself's for various things on this site. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=545127 that's the thread.

A test pipe is a straight pipe that replaces the catalytic converter. It adds power, noise and bad gases into the environment. A car will not pass inspection in PA without a catalytic converter unless you

top goes up and down by a button in the center console when the emergency brake is engaged... unless you've done the mod where you can put it up/down without engaging it.
it still needs to be engaged but you can be in gear and moving

Pretty sure there are mods that allow you to put the top down while moving without the ebrake if you don't mind cutting/grounding a few wires.

ok i'm just gonna do it here since everyone seems to be helpful!

first, i don't quite fully grasp the push star button, how is your car being prevented from theft if they just break the window?

secondly, the top only goes up and down while parked, correct?

thirdly, if any of you guys have mods, could they be easily done by yourself or would you recommend a shop?

4th, i know this is really newbish but what exactly is a test pipe and how does it affect the car?
#1 heather answered

#2 with a 5 second modification i can put my top up or down while moving

#3 i do all my mods myself, with any mechanical ability most mods can be done on your own.

#4 a test pipe replaces the catalytic convertor and frees up the exhaust a bit making more power, but at the same time releases more harmful pollutants into the enviroment

the button seems kind of redundant then lol, i've read that the more high tech and expensive cars detect the key in your pocket and this is what allows the car to start up once the button is pushed.
my mazdaspeed 6 had the "credit card" that I kept in my wallet that would allow me to enter and start the car without a key....so I guess not necessarily the most "expensive" or "high tech" for that matter..pretty cool tho

It's extremely impressive that a newbie can come into the Del Val forum; ask simple questions; and get helpful answers

I think it's a sign of a mature club with a lot of folks who have started to get to know and respect each other. It's hard to people that you know face-to-face!
