Basically, it's $135 for a 1.5 day class on how to do autocross. It's at warminster park this year, April 29th. Saturday afternoon is ~3 hours of classroom instruction. Sunday is from 8am-4pm and its all hands on experience with your car. There are a ton of veteran Autox guys from the region who come out and show you the ropes. They will also drive your car and show you what it can really do along with the proper techniques.. I was very impressed with the whole program and would highly recommend it to ANYONE who is remotely interested in seeing what their car can do. After doing the event I realized there is no way you can possibly experience the full capabilities of the car on the street, you can take your car to the maximum limit in a cone course, and since this is a school you will get a TON of seat time. I think i did about 11 miles worth of driving on sunday, which is a lot for a tight, small course.
Any questions or comments feel free to post, i'll answer what i can. and if any of the autox guys out there want to speak up please do so! I was the only s2000 last fall, we need some representation!

I just found out a few weeks ago, but they have an event at Bader Field (an abandoned airport in Atlantic City) once a month. Im going to start going there hopefully in May. Its only like 10-15 minutes from my house which is awesome!

I have an aquaintance that runs a lightly modded BMW e46 (325) at Bader. I need to get down there and check that out. Supposedly that is a great autox event.

Hey Matt, because this is an SCCA event, is it required to have a roll bar installed in ordered to participate? Not fully aware of all the rules and regulation between SCCA and track events and when I looked in to track days most tracks required roll bars for our cars, was wondering what the SCCA specs where before I contemplated signing up!

no roll bar required. just need to have a car in working order and a helmet as specified by SCCA. check out their site for the helmets - there are SA and H ratings . i use a full face motorcycle helmet that my dad used to use.
if you dont have one check craigslist or maybe someone you know will let you borrow one. if you are free for the event i HIGHLY recommend this event, you will love how awesome the car performs in a track environment.
im sure freq will chime in at some point
