Default removing cat

I'm having a bit of trouble removing the 3 bolts on the downstream side of the cat. I'm putting in a test pipe and these 3 bolts are giving me trouble. I don't have air tools so all i have to work with is a basic ratchet and wrench set. I just soaked them with some PB Blaster and figured i'd let work it's way in for awhile. Any tips or tricks to help get the bolts off???

That is a great start.

I ended up snapping one of those bolts by hand and believe me I am NO giant. If you don't strip them they will snap. Do you have a Roto-Zip or any way to cut the bolts is all else fails?

It helps if you can get access to some air tools (I know, I know). When I was changing the headers/exhaust on my car, I think I snapped one or two of the bolts. It's not a really big deal because you can just pound them out and put new RUSTPROOF ones in their place. Heave like a mutha to see if you can snap 'em loose, if not, just cut them and replace them (Home Depot is great for that kinda thing).

I have dealt with these also and they are a pain, I cracked a snap-on socket on one of them. What you need is a 6 point socket NOT a 12 point. then be sure you have the box end of a wrench on the BOLT head, put the socket on the nut with a cheater bar ( a 12" long pipe over the end) of the rachet. One smooth pull don't wimp out it will give. It may snap if so just replace it with A GRADE 5 fastener.
