Upcoming Charity event to benefit Make A Wish...
To my fellow S2KI people,
Many of you that know me know that my S2K is far from a garage queen, I like photography, play darts, and run a charity event that benefits Make A Wish NJ.
The event is called Darts for Dreams, and is hosted by the Greater Trenton Dart League. So far, in 11 years, we've raised just under $250,000, and sponsored over 35 wishes for NJ kids facing life-threatening illnesses. It's probably very likely that everyone reading this know someone who's been impacted by the many horrible diseases out there and may have received a wish from MAWNJ. So far, since 1983, no wishes have been turned away due to a lack of funds. We're proud to be part of that.
So - I'm putting it out there. If anyone wants to help, you can make a donation at Make-A-Wish New Jersey: Mr. Greater Trenton Dart League - Make-A-Wish Foundation . Every $5, $10, $20 or $50 helps. Every $100 helps even more! If you're company matches, that often doubles or even triples the amount of the donation to the charity.
For those of you that want to help through the purchase of raffle tickets, let me know. They are $5 each, with prizes being a 55" 4K TV, iPad Air2 and an XBox. You can pay online and then I can fill the tickets out. I'll also have them next week at the MWG (but I'll only be there til about 1:30 or so before I have to leave).
If you're in the Mercer County area and want to come out for the day, please do. We'll have raffles, baskets and auction all day long. There's cheap beer and fried food. We'll have 10 dartboards up all day to play (that's what keeps people busy between beers apparently!). Take a crack at playing, or just buy some raffles and win some prizes. Our prize list is also on our website, or here: https://www.trentondarts.com/documen...tionreport.pdf .
Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses to help. I realize charity is a very personal decision and this may or may not align with your personal choices.
Gary

Thanks Chris-
I'm going to head down to arrive right around noon. I have a dart tournament in Philly I have to checkin by 2:30 so I need to leave Ken's early to get there, eat, settle in, etc... So I won't be staying long.
If you want to meet, we can shoot for the I95/Rt1/413 McDonald's right around 11:20 or so?
I won't have the S. Have to bring equipment for the event.

....but you know you want to.
sorry brawls rarely break out, much like baseball foul balls occasionally a wayward dart finds itself in the stands, many an eye has been poked out at these things - that's all i'm sayin'

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you to everyone here who helped by buying a few tickets or making a donation online.
The event was Saturday. We had 92 people in attendance and in total, collected almost $47,000 for Make A Wish NJ!
THANK YOU!!!
