THE BANSHEES of INISHERIN...dark comedy
We caught THE BANSHEES of INISHERIN recently- surprised it even showed up to our smaller city. At any rate, this very dark comedy is a thinker. Irish accents and incredible scenery put you in the 1920's on an isolated island of Ireland.
All the characters are very well acted and on face value, the plot is just sick...but then you go home and start thinking about it some more. I felt for Colin Farrell's character and the emotions he had to endure when his stable life is turned upside down.
Its not a film for kids as it is fairly slow in developing and takes time to recognize the emotion of the what the characters are doing.
I give it an 8/10 for a dark comedy. Lots of funny swearing bits.
