Default Battlestar Galatica

Just saw the first part, and I was impressed. I guess we should have known that with Ron Moore in charge, we would have a character driven show. I loved hearing the original theme music played during the decommissioning ceremony! Nice touch. I did not care for the "handheld" camera shots during the battle scenes, to me it made the some of the space action shots hard to follow and watch. Over all it's off to a great start!

Yeah, good start. I don't miss Lorne Greene (E.J.O. is a fantastic pick). But a female Starbuck is just messing with my head.

I don't like the over-dramatic character development. These people seem like cartoon versions of real people. But I know it's necessary for the average audience. I assume they'll tone down the one-dimensional aspect after the introductions.

My favorite moment: "We can't launch there. It's a giftshop now."

All the trailers have said that we can expect flawed characters where the bad guys aren't always bad, and the good guys aren't always good. Of all the Trak I've watched, I was never hooked by DS9. It always seemed to me that the story could have been told in a mini-series. To me, they spent too much time on the characters and not enough time "getting on" with the story. By the time it got interesting (last two seasons), they were SO immersed in the story, it was hard to "join" in the middle. Hopefully BSG will not get too bogged down in the "soap opera" angle and tell the tale. I'll try to ignore that I think you just lumped me together with "average audiences"

I'm a fan of the old, so some of the changes were a little weird....but overall, as time went on, I actually began to like it. The new centurian's are cool lookin!

I thought it was very well done.

The character changes/revisions I thought brought a very fresh take to the classic BattleStar Galactica story line.

It was an excellent remake! As a huge fan of the original series, I was completely impressed. The simple fact that they showed the Vipers maneuvering with rockets instead of flying around like airplanes was very cool. Sad to say I haven't heard any plans of making it into a series, Edward James Olmos would probably cost too much for that, and he was one of the best things about it. But I would like to see more of that Cylon woman...

For sure I'd love to see it come back as a series. But I don't know if it did well enough in the ratings to justify the cost.

Gotta remember that the original only lasted a season and it was groundbreaking at the time.
