Battlestar Galatica
Just the other day I pulled the first season back out and watched a few key ones such as '33'. The first season was just major kick ass, groundbreaking stuff that left so many other shows behind. I like the fact that there's a human aspect to the show (no pun intended, lol) beyond the whole space battle conflict.
I really liked it but I do have to say the rest is not as good as season 1. It wonders quite a bit in the middle seasons and then gets really convoluted.
I would have liked to have the Cylons identities hidden for a much longer period. What starts out as a hidden menace and a great metaphor for terrorists, suddenly becomes a bickering bureaucracy mired in inner polititcs. The mstery of them was more interesting than the reality.
And "33" is the finest episode in the series.
