My wife and I just caught Deepwater Horizon last night. Looking for a great night out at the movies? Go see this "edge of your seat" action packed movie.

This is based on an actual event in which BP took a serious beating in the media when their deepwater oil well made a mess off the coast off Louisiana. I remember when this actually happened. The movie builds tension as we meet the principles, get to understand their role on the drilling rig, and the see the event which led to the biggest oil disaster in US history. You could almost feel the fire from the seat.

One criticism is I would have liked to see more of what happened after the event and how it affected those involved- what is the state of the area now?

All in all, this is an excellent movie to see on the big screen.

I love action movies like this so I give it a 9/10 on the action scale and a 7/10 overall. Its not a really deep movie but I'll bet it accurately shows what the Deepwater Horizon workers had to deal with.

I watched it as a rental recently and was pleasantly surprised. It is not Citizen Kane, but it is a pretty solid movie worth a watch.
