I don't get it. It seems to me that Hollywood has run out of ideas and is getting stupider by the minute with sequels. I mean christ, Mad Max IV is in the works along with Rocky VI. We should be seeing better movies but instead we have to keep watching the same stuff over and over again. Granted it is different with Star Wars or Lord of the Rings but shit some movies should have only ended with 1. Hell, Legally Blonde 2 is coming out. Why do they keep trashing up the original concept of a one time movie and let it establish itself as a stand alone hit or classic. Look at Wizard of Oz, been like that for years and now they want to do a sequel called Return to Oz starring Drew Barrymore.

I am grateful that they finally did Spider-man but I wish they would end it there and now they are going to to 2 more movies just to be a cash cow.

 

But you have the perogative to NOT go see them. As long as people continue to pay to see them and Hollywood makes money, they will continue to make these sequels. It's not always a matter a taste or art or stupidity. Profit is a plenty good reason to make movies, even ones that some people think should not be made.
