The book was great. So was the sequel, Reflex.

The movie doesn't follow the book at all, from what I've heard.

Yeah, but Jumper and Reflex are really a very different story than the story of the movie. They don't make sense if anybody other than Davie can jump.

The new Jumper: Griffin's Story is set in the universe of the movie, not the universe of the first two novels.

OH, ok so in the original books, Davie is the only one who has the ablility?

They why are the paladins hunting him? If he is the only one....

Good synopsis, mikegarrison. The first book was very entertaining. The second was too, except those conditioning scenes made me rather uncomfortable. Stephen Gould's other books, by the way, are good reads as well - check them out if you want some entertaining young-adult sci-fi.

As stated above, the story was heavily changed for the movie adaptation, and Gould released a new book told from that perspective. I haven't read that nor seen the movie, but I'll probably catch the movie as a rental eventually.
