I think you're blowing that way out of proportion. What's the difference between what they were doing and what people at nearly any young-aged dance club do?
Perhaps I am taking it a bit too far but that is just my opinion. There is no difference between that and the "young-aged dance clubs" and that was my entire point. Nothing but a bunch of hedonistic, no value having wannabe pimps and pimpstresses grinding on each other to the current weeks manufactured "hit" like 50 cent and all that other crap the young kids these days consider music. It's all about giving in to your desires and not thinking of the consequences.

They were doing what they wanted to do because they understood that caring about what impression they were giving off made it impossible to be truly free.
I completely disagree. They were doing what they wanted to because that is what greedy, self absorbed humans do on a regular basis.

The best review I have read about the film so far labeled that scene as "A rave gone bad thrown inside the Pottery Barn on the Planet of the Gay Apes." I can't do much better than that.

I agree that it's hedonistic but I don't see what the consequences are. It's actually very fun and it's a great way to unwind every once in a while. When I wake up the next morning after staying out until 4 AM dancing with girls whose names I didn't even know the night before, I say, "That was fun!", not "damn, what got in to me?" I suppose this has a lot to do with our indiviual stances on sex without love and all related topics, but I think later on in life I'll look back and be glad that I had this sort of fun when I was young.

Unfortunately that was the only scene involving a large number of *young* Zion inhabitants so we can't see what else they do on a day to day basis. We don't know how often they do this or under what circumstances. I won't give away any details from the movie but that night was very different than all other nights and that may have had something to do with it.

Very true indeed. All I know is that I was disappointed we didn't get a screenshot of the "Zion Gym." I mean it had to exist...right? Did you see how good a shape everyone was in and how big some of the guys were that were jumping up and down? If they are all supposed to be surviving off of that white goop from the first film I wonder where they get there whey protein shipped in from.

Hmm... I wonder if it's possible to plug into a program that tricks your mind into thinking your muscles need regeneration, without tearing up your muscle tissue manually lifting weights?

I'm surprised to see so many negative responses from people that I respect and generally agree with on other subjects. I guess I'll never make it as a Hollywood movie exec
