Default Pan's Labyrinth

Universally rated here in the UK as one of the best movies of the year.

The horrific bit was having to sit through the Hollywood packaged horror trailers some distributors thought this movie's audience would be interested in. Thankfully they just served to highlight the imagination and skill that went into this movie set in the embers of the Spanish Civil War.

Spoken in Spanish which I don't speak but as always I am glad they went for subtitles than trying to dub/dumb it down.

PL was shot for

i just watched it two nights ago! i really liked it. it reminds me of grave(yard) of the fireflies -- similar story except that one is animated, and situated in WWII japan.

I as well, really liked this movie. I thought it was cool how the Spanish war story parralled the fairytale story. I was also pleastly shocked by the darkness of the storylines. That Step dad was a seriously cruel bastard!
