Default Walk Hard

I saw this last Thursday (with my mom - bad idea).

Anywhoo, this movie is at once brilliant and awful at the same time. I found myself torn between laughing, crying, and puking.

John Reilly probably deserves whatever awards are being offered him for playing Wally Cox. His performance was amazing. Tim Meadows turns in a magnificent performance as well as Wally's drummer.

What gets me with this movie are the simultaneous levels of humor. There are moments of comic sublimity juxtaposed against absolute slapstick against just ghastly moments of raunch. Often, all three layers are coming at you at the same time.

I can't guarantee that everyone will like this. I can guarantee that there'll be something everyone will hate/be annoyed or offended by. It might be too much for some, or not enough for others.

If you like a particular type of humor, you'll hate it. If you're a fan of most types of humor, you'll love it.

Loved this movie. I totally agree with the multi-layered humor. I like the fact that they had fun with it and just went over the top.

I didn't have a problem hearing about it, and I don't have TV.

Loved it.

"You mean I'm not as good as a quarter of my brother?"

"Dewey! Get out of here MAN!. You don't want any of this sh*t! It turns all your bad feelings into good feelings!"

BTW...Jenna Fischer is hot.

For some reason, my wife and i just sat there. I might have laughed 1x.
the movie is humorous, and there were a few chuckles, but nothing great.
It seemed like they tried to do a funny remake of Walk the Line instead of a comedy movie with a similar premise to WtL.
I was hugely disappointed, good thing redbox is $1.

Better than I thought it was going to be by a long shot. Had about 30 minutes in which nothing actually happened and the movie dragged on a little bit but a good one regardless.
