Do not PASS on the double line - at least that is the way I learned it in southern West Virginia (Dragon's Tail looks like a freeway compared to many of those roads) 40+ years ago!

All (good) drivers native to mountain country cut off the apex of the curve when reasonable. That means that you have clear vision through the next turn - at least.
Does not mean cross over into the opposing lane when you are not 100% sure of exactly what is in that lane! Only drivers we ever saw running strictly in the two worn ruts of their lane had Florida license plates - and never saw a winding road.

If crossing the double line for a quicker and smoother drive when driving with enthusiasm is incorrect, color me criminal!
Yeah, it's never a problem until the unforseen happens and you kill or mame someone

There aren't any people in WV to be on the roads. It is true, you see lane crossing on almost every twisty 2 lane road you drive. However, how many times on those drives do you see 2 - 6 sport bikes doin 80 around those blind curves? At least if they come up behind someone, they have a little time to stop, but meeting someone head on, well you know. Oh wait, you don't know, I forgot

I agree, stay off the Dragon. crossing the double yellow is illegal, so you are coloring yourself criminal!

If you can't have fun tossing your ride around in it's own lane, then take it to a track where you do own the whole damn road.

I have come face to face with bikes, cars, and trucks crossing the line on the Dragon, and it scares the sh*t out of me. Last thing you need when driving at 70+% is a safety reflex action that could cause loss of control.

KEEP IN YOU OWN LANE

I don't even care that it's illegal... it's stupid and dangerous on the Dragon.
