Default Giant loop under consideration.

Not saying this is going to be a drive this year but we are looking at it as a result of a cool restaurant being mentioned to us.

That looks fun, if you go clockwise you can stop at Cafe REL for lunch and Telico Grains for an early dinner, or go the other way and stop at Telico Grains for lunch and Cafe for an early dinner, you just have to find an ice cream place on the route.

yup. I like it. I like it a lot...but maybe consider 315 (we've done it before and its less travelled than 68), and add the Navarro's smokehouse instead of a place at tellico plains. Its far enough out to make us even more hungry...and as always, because smoked BBQ.

just 'cause I can't leave these maps alone

LOL
We hit Helen a couple years ago. It is a very unique place so we thought maybe we would visit again. Terrible idea on a weekend though, too busy.

One suggestion, I would extend the loop a bit.
instead of taking US180 in Suches, consider going south on US 60 until it meets US19. Head north on US19 and then pick up US180. Doing this will include going over Blood Mountain. If you do the loop counter clockwise, you’ll be driving up the mountain from the south side, one of the best roads in GA. Quite a few stretches of US 19 up the mountain will be double lanes.

I don't know if I trust following the Canadians up something called "Blood Mountain".

It's a great drive. In places it's three lanes going up the mountain so you have opportunities to pass. Two years ago, I had a guy on a bicycle try to stay with us going down. He made a great effort, just not fast enough.
