Giant loop under consideration.

US180 and US19 are a couple of my favorite roads, especially going downl! I’ll be coming up to RtD through that general area on that Thursday.

If you do pass the intersection of US60 and US19, put a stone on Trahlyta’s grave for good fortune! No reason you couldn’t grab one in advance and toss it on as you pass by!

Been going up GA-60 on my trek to the dragon for a couple of years now. If you can get down to Ellijay, Ga. check out GA-52 West to Chatworth, GA. Fun road with some nice pulloffs with great mountain views.

instead of taking US180 in Suches, consider going south on US 60 until it meets US19. Head north on US19 and then pick up US180. Doing this will include going over Blood Mountain. If you do the loop counter clockwise, you’ll be driving up the mountain from the south side, one of the best roads in GA. Quite a few stretches of US 19 up the mountain will be double lanes.
Like this then.

Dave, check this for your trip down. If you're coming down via Marion, you may want to try this..

The lower end of 197 has a longer than desired gravel section. Bama and I found that a few years back. The upper half is a great road though.

Where does the gravel start? Definitely something to avoid. I'm going to try this one instead. https://goo.gl/maps/4c2BnkifxoSz6WiT7

197 south of Burnsville - from 19E, it is great until half way to 19. About 7 miles of gravel.
Bama ,and the Canadian adventure tour decided to drive the gravel section about 6 years ago and it was longer than we hoped.
