I'm going to do a TN 173 to NC 226 run down to Little Switzerland and then a whole bunch of back roads (carefully avoiding the BRP) to NC 80.

We did the Blue Ridge Parkway this past Summer from US 276 just south of Asheville to Mt Mitchell and bypassed Asheville altogether . This was a nice change of pace and some great scenery. Ken if you get a chance check out Roan Mountain TN 143 which turn into NC 261 to NC 226 south to Bakersville then NC80 south to US19E. NC80 is one fine curvy road to do. See you in March, Later BD

I'm going to take Powder Hill Rd (TN SR 173? in Unicoi, TN) to NC SR 226 down to Little Switzerland. Then I'm going to run north of the BRP to NC 80 and take NC 80 down to US 70 and then to I-40. and the "normal" way to Fontana (after a stop for dinner at Cucina 24)

The only day this loop will fit into the program will be Thusday. It needs to be shortened if any of the highlites are going to be explored versus just roaring through. I know there is lots of good roads in the loop but you cant hit them all in one swoop without it being a multiday trip.

I'd be up for this on Thursday. If there is considerable interest, we can run 2 groups. We could do dinner at Tapoca by the river side.

I'd be in for this. Or could lead a group 2 if needed.
