Oh, by the way, at IXRADIO.COM I saw the same setup with a remote PTT that can be fastened to a finger or something. If you have a +1 in the car, you could not use the VOX mode and speak offline to your +1, at least not easily. Just a thought.

Plus, you don't want to risk upsetting w1ngman!

on the one pictured you can toggle very easily between PTT and VOX.....btw...I've tested it and was amazed at how well it worked

I scored these at my local wally world:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...944:178120:4511

no sub channels, but then I doubt most will have sub channel anyways. The price is right and comes with all the goodies.

BTW, i think these radios can transmit on high power on the shared GMRS/FRS channels....
Please get one with subchannel capability. I think all the new ones have this, but there's always a few people who don't have it and it forces the rest of the group onto very noisy main channels

just a thought

Thanks Tim... the majority have subchannels. After 15 minutes on a main channel, you will regret saving $5 on a cheap radio and throw it off the cliff.

I've decided not to bring my S2k to the Dragon. Instead, I'll be driving my Durango-95 with my droogs

Tim:
Do you still have those extra radios? I may be interested. You coming down to Cincy on Thursday night? They will need to be charged up won't they?
