... and actually the tree made for a better day than if he hadn't hit it. It was a long way down the side of that part of the mountain otherwise.

The first time I saw the above pic all I could think of was "Wow, that sure looks like my car." As a Dragon newbie I think those are valuable pics to see. That said, I can't wait to have the chance to join in the mid-April fun!

Thanks all,

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... Okay then FIX the problem and INCREASE the freakin' speed limit . Seriously...the reason I can now be charged with reckless (Holy-sheit!) is because the speed limit has been lowered to a snail-crawl all for the sake of revenue. Sorry folks, but I won't buy this. I respect that there are definite asshats on The Dragon. Day in...and day out. And they deserve to have their wrist wrapped up their back until it touches their shoulderblade. But the fact is, I can find plenty of roads that are just as twisty (no one is arguing length here...just plain ol' topography & elevation stuff found in any West By-God Virginni mountain road) that have 55MPH posted speeds. And when I've driven them, I'd likely find a local in a '93 4DR Dodge Spirit fillin' up my rear view mirror and cussin' me cuz I'm going too slow.

But thanks "sheriff"...you've given me one more reason not to travel west a few times a year ...

I hear ya ...and I reviewed the entire thread before posting my thoughts. Also, I posted a little bit cavalier perhaps...but it just chaps my hide when I can follow a Winnebago (sp?) that manages 30MPH on The Dragon. Sure...not a fun thing to do...but all the while I'm thinking, "Holy Sheit! All this poor SOB is doing IS THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT!!! " And it amazes me that if a RV can manage a posted speed, then why on God's green earth (okay, so the earth is dying but that's anooooooooother thread altogether ) should any passenger vehicle be forced to maintain such an artificially low speed limit every day of the week. I say for no other reason than revenue.

With computer systems being what they are today offenses can be seen in any state from any state at any time. Most states cooperate and an offense in one state carries to your home state just as if it happened there.

I've forgotten the name of the Federal law, but it basically states that a law in one state has to be recognized in another state. The only thing that seems to fall out of this is gay marriage, but that's another subject for another time.

If Tennessee said 5 MPH over the speed limit is considered reckless driving, and you were convicted in Tennessee of doing 6 MPH over - guess what. You now have a reckless driving on your Illinois record.....sucks doesn't it?
This is 100% accurate. The ironic part is that within the state of illinios, if you get two tickets, each in a different county, even if the counties border each other, they will likely never figure out that you have two tickets against you.

They talk to OTHER states, FAR better than they talk to different counties in the SAME state.

Suckas!
