Minvo Group Convoy
Hi all!
This is the Minvo convoy (really need a better name than that - any suggestions?).
I am sure most people will want to join one convoy or another for the routes down to Trento and back.
In post 2 is the convoy that we have organised (thanks to HRS2000 and Buckfez for their valuable input).
This convoy will be a fast drive but we will still be sticking to speed limits.
Alan (LeSau) has added a QUICK WAY DOWN AND BACK which is obviously cheaper if you don't want to spend too much on fuel and hotels.
This convoy will be:
- Leaving the UK on Wed 14th May
- Staying at two hotels on the way down (Nancy & Bregenz)
- Staying at the euromeet venue for 2 NIGHTS
- Heading for the Med Coast (staying one night on route)
- Staying on the med coast for 3 Nights
- Taking the Route Napoleon home
- Staying in 3 different hotels on the route home
- Returning to the UK on Sat 24th May.
Please note this is a WORK IN PROGRESS document and may be amended slightly before the final route is set!
Anything in GREEN BOLD is a CONFIRMED route
(with maybe minor corrections for lunch breaks, etc).
Hotels that have been booked are in BLUE BOLD.
If you wish to join this convoy you should be BOOKING THESE HOTELS ASAP
(please make your own arrangements to book hotels).
Don't panic if you can't get into a hotel - just book one nearby and we will meet up again in the morning!
I will be more than happy to have as many cars as necessary in the convoy (even from other countries!).
Please feel free to suggest a lunch (or other comfort) stops! - just add a post to thread.
Please feel free to 'join' this convoy for "the whole journey" or "just a part of it" - just add a post to the thread to say you are interested.
Any comments, ideas or just some good old fashioned "Euromeet!! Woo Hoo!!"'s will be most welcome.

Just a quick tip for you having organised a few of these groups before is that groups of more than 8 cars become difficult to manage.
Usually what happens is that the group gets spread out at roundabouts and lights and such and then carnage ensues.
So if you have more than 8 cars then split up into smaller groups.
Sat nav and a programmed route is also a must for everyone.

I might drive back with your group. And then go from Reims to the Netherlands. I wanted to do Monaco on the way to or coming back from Italy.
Near Reims I know a nice place to make photos. A old racetrack called Circuit de Gueux. The old buildings next to the track have been restored. I've been there last year
