You know how far you're talking about right? Sounds a bit ambitious to me. Bear in mind the French police are really cracking down on speeding at the moment. Seen more speed traps in the last 4 weeks than the previous 1.5 years I've been here

If you really are coming this far down, I can recommend some great mountain roads around here and would happily act as tour guide if I weren't working. Can easily do beers in the evening but it's a bit quiet round here at this time of year, especially midweek. Annecy is a different story, crawling with totty but have only been there weekends, not sure during the week.
