Here's my line in the sand: if I knew of the planning and did nothing to contribute, then I have no legs to stand on and should STFU and color. That's the angle it seems you agree with, and I am totally onboard with that.
On the other side of the line: if the planning was done and there was no effort by the local Tampa committee to reach out to the other CO's, then the dissatisfaction is warranted and completely understandable.
Now, that's the two sides and we all know there's a third (the truth). What that is? I dunno. My short 25 years on this planet tell me its more than likely a mixture of both. One thing I do know is this could have been better planned no matter what line you stand on, and I hope going forward my observations and the subsequent feelings which follow are taken into account for the next big "meet".

we did what we did for the reasons I laid out.
I challenge ANYONE to say what I have described as not truthful...ANYONE. I only have one or two things I can truly call mine on this planet and one of them is my WORD and the other is my HONOR. Neither of those will be tarnished as a result of anything in here. I may be a dick in the political arena and I have my own opinions to be sure but I dont practice deciet or dishonesty. What good would coming out here and saying all I did do if it was not the truth? I would be the biggest fail bucket on the planet....LOL
I dont see any of the haters of this event posting too much...maybe they are planning some master stroke....who knows....they are probably just better than me. I live and breathe in the trenches so i am used to hashing crap like this out.
I dont think I would have aired out the dirty laundry if I had any worry of anything I wrote being a lie or not the truth in any way.
regardless of anything, the gauntlet has been thrown out there. I expect big things to happen next time and I hope I am involved.

Wait, I think I misread what I quote of your post Rob. So you guys PURPOSELY did not consult anyone else for this planning? That's fine for a regional thing, but for the entire state? That's vain and little offensive to say the least.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
We did the 2009 one...just did it... nobody was doing anything then…no discussions no action, nothing
People ended up bitching about ownership of the term supermeet and how no one had the right to call a state-wide meet that name.
No one offered solutions or did anything while we were licking our wounds over the naming convention.
Then we waited for someone...anyone….. to do or offer anything in the way of a super anything.
and waited
and waited
and waited
and waited
and waited
and waited
Nearly a year later somebody posts up a question about "Hey when we gonna do another supermeet...2009 was such a blast"
Again we waited and waited for anyone to do anything.
Keep in mind at this point that: given our track record of planning and doing big events, it would be silly to assume that we, the Tampa community, would not jump at the chance to help with any planning of any event that would come down the pipe to us.

This was posted in the main FL forum for all to see. Where was the PM’s from anyone wanting/willing to do anything? No one received any….nothing was done.
At what point do we, as the producers of the 2009 meet, have a responsibility to act? Given the perspective, I have laid out before, that it is nearly impossibility to get things off the ground when the CO collective is approached about anything, what option did we have?
I again submit to you that somebody doing something is better than everyone doing nothing.
The gauntlet is now firmly on the floor. We will see what happens.
if it takes us doing these meets (and getting people's panites in a wad about ownership, planning, names...whatever) to spur the state's CO's and members into doing something.....I look at that as huge win....for everyone.
BRING IT ON!!!!!! Lets do the damn thang!!!
