The interesting social aspect is that when people are objective (or don't personally know someone), it's not only obvious what an idiot she is, there is no fear in stating it.

Among her "friends" the concern seems to be more insurance related with the fact that she has kids and thinks "f*** seatbelts" is largely ignored!

I am probably too cautious, but we have a 4 year old and on those rare times when my wife and I go out on our own, I always consider carefully the ramifications of both of us being in a small car together at the same time. Depending on what we're doing and where we're going, we often end up taking a different car. In any case, I can't imagine leaving the driveway without a seatbelt on...

There in lies the difference between you and Ms. Asshat. You care about your child growing up with two healthy happy parents, while she just wants to be "cool". She'll be cool enough when she ends up on ice and that child wil be the true victim. Even moreso than now.

I may have come off as wishing something bad upon her but that isn't the case. I was just stating what the likely and unfortunate outcome of this train of thought usually is, especially when after surviving such a terrible accident. It just bothers me when people could care les about their own lives, it really makes you think about their opinion on those around them and their welfare. Hope she grows up, for her and her kids sake.
