Default any dealerships selling for MSRP???

i just got off the phone w/ my ex gf's bro (who is a Honda salesman) and he told me the best they can do is $1000 over MSRP......and they want to give me some INSANELY LOW amount on trade for my '00 Nissan Frontier.......i need help.....i am probably going to sell my truck myself and if anyone can help me find a dealership that will sell me @ MSRP or LESS! it would be GREATLY appreciated (even though i would want to buy from him, i have to take the best deal)......thanks alot everyone!

I did OK at Braman in West Palm, but I had a reference from Braman BMW. The trade value for my Grand Prix GTP '00 was 14,000 for "Perfect <10,000 miles." My car had 10,500 miles, scratch on the side (4"x2") and a very little damage on the rear bumper. They gave me 13,500; started at 11.5, I said no, 14. They said 12.5, I said no, showed them the blue book page and a written estimate for the damage of $600. They went to 13.5, which was what I wanted, just took a few 'tries.'

Also, they wanted a $4K premium, but agreed to drop it right away. I ended up leasing, but still got a good price for my trade, so I was happy.

Did not like Ed Morse in West Palm at all.

i would be happy w/ like $14k for my truck.....but i wont lease because youre "renting" the car from them and u just traded your car into them for $13k or however much, and in a sense you just lost all of that equity you had.....i preffer to buy the car.....and then it be MINE at the end and be able to trade it......even if u pay off the lease you end up w/ a final balloon payment and the car actually ends up being like $3-4k more than if u bought it.......i talked to this dude in Miami, hes cool as hell....i will talk to him again on monday about how much he could give me for my truck and if he can get the color combo for me w/o ordering one etc. etc.

Good luck with everything. I leased for two reason's. I planned on, and do, drive the Hell out of this car. Instead of putting the equity from my car into another car, I took the 12K (what's left after leasing) and paid off two credit cards and paid 7K toward my mortgage, which far exceeds any percentage return I'd get on the equity of my next car (by like 1000%). It would be nice to own so I could do mods to my heart's content, but the dealer specifically told me that they don't care if I do basic mods (CAI, Exhaust, wheels, clutch). They just said don't put a TC or SC on it, it'll void the warrenty. I can live with that.

ohhh thats bad ass.....i thought u used the Pontiac as a trade for the S2000.....u didnt mention that u used the $$ for somthin else!!! .........thanks for the good luck wish! i will DEFINATLY need it......everyone is sooo obsessed w/ making money they cant cut me a break and give me a couple more grand for my truck, its PAID OFF.....its like cash in my pocket and those guys wont help me out in the least bit.....but we will see.....if they wont give me what i want i might just have to save alittle more and give them some xtra money down but still have some in the bank to keep as reserves (if i order one the 4 months it takes to order will be long enough ).....but then again i will be w/o a car for 4 months.....luckily i work w/ my mom!!! hehe......anyways, thanks man.....ttyl
