Chip - details?
It is a group 51 battery and they are available at any Batteries Plus store. They install for free.

Whatever you do, do not let them sell you an Optima (yellow top with 6 round cells), expensive and some well documented quality problems.

The odyssee is a good battery. The original in my car was a Panasonic Dry cell and I just replaced it last year. Dry cells seem to last longer but they tend to not have the reserve and cold cranking thaty a wet cell will have, IMO

Very true. We live in Fl so it doesnt get cold and my car doesnt sit more then a week. Even with this cold winter i didnt have any problems. The points you mentioned are true and should be considered. When replacing my soft top we had the door open with the interior light on for 2 hours that did almost kill the battery but luckily it started

My original battery lasted 5 years (car is garaged). Replaced it with a DieHard Gold from Sears. It died in about 2.5 years, and was replaced under warranty last year. (Yes, I've had my S that long.) IMO, doesn't mattery what battery you buy, just check the warranty terms first. Many give you free replacement for the first however many months.

I'd go matched cells over sport packs for better output and higher peaks.

But I am only running a 24 turn, stock motor...i want to go brushless so bad.....

Oh....... we are talking big cars....

whoops, nevermind

my oem lasted over five years (half in georgia/ other half in florida) two of those years were directly over a turbo. couldn't be happier. when it finally went last month i bought another oem (paid 80 at the dealership- advanced auto wanted 100 for their crappy generic battery with only 400 cca's) i can't complain with that kind of battery life- i came from vegas where batteries only last a year- two years tops

My previous MY 2000 S had the OEM battery in it in 2007 when I killed it. Making that battery ~7 years old. No problems.

My current 01 also has the OEM battery in it...

IMO, batteries should last longer than a couple years. People replacing them every 2 years should make sure they are being charged properly by the alternator.
