Definitely entrapment but can you actually fight that in court "your word against theirs? I agree they should have better things than that to do!

so yesterday i went into work and a coworker told me he was driving down atlantic blvd and a blue subaru wrx (he said it was dark blue but i don't recall them making them in that color, and doesn't know if it was a sti or not) pulled up next to a civic at a light and started reving his engine- got the civic to race. after the suby stomped the piss out of the civic it preceded to slow down, get behind the civic and pull him over for street racing. i have not heard anyone else mention anything like this before (well other than the mustang gt that is messing with orlando drivers) but i do know that jax is starting to get some weird unmarked cars so it doesn't surprise me. so be careful out there.
Wow...just wow.

The only JSO unmarked cars I've seen are the Expeditions, Tahoes and Impalas. The newer Imps are easy to spot because A) they are all the same color (champagne bronze-ish), B) they have the plain steel wheels, and of course C) they still have the city plates.

There are however some black Imps with VERY dark tinted windows, and regular plates. In fact one of them regularly sits in my neighborhood in the afternoons. He also has a big arse Harley Davidson sticker across his back window. But damn if that thing doesn't light up like a Christmas tree when he flips the switch!

I agree with Ben. That is entrapment. They can NOT instigate a race, then pull you over for conceding. They are sworn by oath to not be allowed to break the law in order to keep the peace.

I think your friend is mistaken.
i am not too sure about cops out here (haven't had enough run ins with them to form a solid opinion- knock on wood) but in vegas they will break every rule known to man to get you to break the simplest rules then bust you for it. the whole "their word against mine" thing doesn't work if you drive an import.
