there is a defeat for the clutch that a professional installer would know how to do. I dont have the info myself but any pro install shop should be able to help you out with it.

Really depends on the shop...

After what happened to my friend I really wouldn't consider putting a remote start on any manual trans car... He was having body work done at a shop and one of the employees used his key fob to start the car while standing in front of it...the last person that was in the car left it in 1st gear and the car jumped at the guy breaking his leg and doing knee damage I believe. Lets just say that he got sued and ended up going through a big ordeal...just not worth it imo

It comes down to shop scruples. Some tint shops wont go limo dark, some will make it however you want it. it really depends on how bad the shop wants business IMHO. As far as legality I dont know but I have seen plenty of Manual cars with auto start.

Make sure it is always in neutral like Zero said

well one option that the alarm has is a turbo timer function. i may not have a turbo, but i still think that it wont hurt to let the car run 30 seconds after i park it. it is also a good way to remember to leave it in neutral. thanks for the help....next step is to find a reasonable place to install it. anyone have any good places? (i live by USF)

You might want to check out Modifry's site. There's a description of what he did to put a safety interlock on his remote start so that it was defeated if the car had been left in gear.

For those who don't know him, Modifry is a very cool (and very smart, as you'll read) owner from the Atlanta group.
