First off let me say that I am fine and my car is not badley hurt.
So it was Saturday night and I just got done eating with Rob, his wife, my man J aka (Elroy) and another S2ker at Mugs and Jugs. As I said goodbye to everyone I sat in the parking lot for a minute to punch up some coordinates on my GPS Blackberry (Rob no offense, your directions were good, just some insurance ).
So I pulled out of the parking lot and made a left on Ulmerton (I believe that was the road I was on ) and proceeded South bound and got to the turning lane behind a 2001 Toyota Camry. I watched the turn arrow change from red to green and the Camry started making his turn through the intersection.
However,
I noticed traffic started moving from the North bound lane comming and watched this Camry smack the hell out of a 1997 Civic 4 door right in the middle of the driver's side B-pillar BAM!!!!!
The Civic started its dance of destruction as it spun around one and a half times clipping my driver's side rear bumper and part of the corner of the bumper as well.
I was like as everything seemed to happen in slow motion! I quickly got out of the intersection, made a three point turn to avoid the barracades and parked my car on the shoulder on the North bound lane to make sure everyone was ok and to inspect the damage.
Low and behold, there are a few scratchs on the bumper were the little indy decal is and it extends about 5 inches around the corner and some of the paint has spiderweb cracks in it.
Everyone involved or in witness to the accident stated that the Camry was in the wrong because the North bound light turned green and evidence dictated that the Camry ran the turn signal. I told the first arriving officer what happened and he said that a TRAFFIC LIGHT MALFUNCTION WAS UNLIKELY.
When the investigating officer arrived he took all of our statements and I told him what a saw.
During the time the investigating officer was getting statements I was watching that intersection like a hawk and it happened again. I immediately point it out to the first officer on the scene and he said he saw it too.
Ten minutes after that he left.
I hope they do not brush this off and include that in their report because this can and will happen again.
Im going to have my car looked at by my friend who works for Carsmedics and see what is up.
