you got the offending cars info and insurance company, yes??

not much hope IMHO of getting restitution form the city.

File your claim with your insurance even if you have the other person's insurance info and get the ball rolling on a reverse claim through your insurance

let the offending person worry about getting anything from the city in regards to this event. You need to worry about his/her insurance covering your damage not the city. The city will be worried about thier liability concerning the initial wreck first if they choose to care at all.

No worries on your parade lap stuff just shoot me pic when its convenient for you just so I can see whats up
Naw no info other than the officer telling me to follow up on the report and giving me his card.

I will file my claim, I have USAA and they are good from what I hear.

The damage cannot be seen from a distance which is good IMO.

But still my but hey, it could have been worse.

I will post pics so you can see.

And take the car to where you want it repaired, not where they want you to go. Also don't waste your time getting multiple estimates for them, you are not obligated to nor required to by law. (They will try and tell you you must have 3 estimates) You are not obligated to save them money, they have a responsibility to repair your car to the condition it was pre-accident.

Don't sign anything until the car is repaired to your satisfaction, the claims adjuster will try and get you to "sign off to receive payment" prior to the repair. Then they can wash their hands of it at the estimate stage instead of waiting until the car is actually worked on and their may be hidden damage that was not estimated.

They play lots of games and the process is a royal PIA, be firm and forceful.

Good Luck!

I thought it was best to at least inform your insurance and get the ball rolling on a retro claim in case the offenders insurance drags its feet or refuses something?

I agree to file the initial claim through the offenders insurance for sure!

Get the rear bumper shot ASAP and let it set for several days or a week before reapplying decals .

As for fault id would insist the other driver ;aunch an investigatin into that intersection and get a statement from that cop . It is rediculous that a traffic CONTROL device would cause an accident . Sue the city and it will get fixed
