CG, you are correct. Real name is J...but since real names don't appear much on here, its R on the S2KI... short for both Racemint, and Regards.

BTW, thanks for the vote of confidence. You know I have not let many drive the Z06, so the feeling is mutual.

So let us know when the test and tune will be. We'll bring the Z and see what Super Stock might be like this year. What do you say NOW. Get the E.

R (J)

Okay Racemint, I just booked a flight on the 11th to test drive an Elise. It doesn't have the sport pkg but it should give me a better idea about the car.

Joshua, are these friends of yours that own the two Elise's or newbies to Chin Motorsports events? If passengers are allowed I might be tempted to fly down if I could ride in one of them for a session or two. On the other hand I might go nuts spending a day riding instead of driving.

Sorry CG, they are new to Chin Motorsports and they are ranked as novices. No rides are allowed unless the driver is sufficiently experienced to be solo. It would be great to meet you, and I'd be happy to give you a ride in the Miata, but that's probably not worth an airline ticket.

I'll find out as much as I can about the cars and the owners. Have fun on your test drive - please post your impressions.

Thanks Josh,

I'm a little surprised that Chin alows riders at all. For about the last 4 years we've been saying we should meet. I'm sure we will at some point.

As far as the Miata goes... I love those cars and would have one now if they had just a wee bit more room inside for daily use. The Elise wouldn't be a daily driver so size wouldn't be major problem.

If you get a chance to ride in or drive one of the Elise's on or off the track please do it and let me know what you think. I'll post your impressions when I get back home.

This is sounding more and more interesting. I will be looking forward to your test drive report. BTW, Roberta is expressing desire for something to commute in besides the Miata. After her regular trips to Jax, she now thinks its too small also! Sounds like an opportunity to me. Hmm..... so many cars, so little time.

Well, Gentlemen, I too just put my name in the pot for the next (of 100) Lotus Elise to come to Maryland.

I am in denial since I traded my 04 S2K in on my 05 RL. I want a fun-runner for the weekends, let alone the occasional trip to N.C. for a round of golf...now where do I put the clubs and cloths bags???
