Florida guys, I need your help

Not sure how Tampa can be considered a "smaller university town"...lol 
Gainesville is fits in most respects...the airport ain't the greatest though. But decent driving roads; not too far from Orlando, Tampa or Jax; within 2hrs of a beach (nice drive too).
Deland fits as well, but the university (Stetson) is pretty small. In other words, if you are looking for the university to provide some culture or student lifestyle...well...it probably isn't going to satisfy you. But if you just want a place to take some classes or for spouse/kid to take classes, it would be a good choice.
Tallahassee has a lousy airport and is pretty far from a metropolis. But is a similar university town to G'ville.
