GROUP DRIVE SUGGESTIONS
Ok, well I just signed up for s2ki.com. I however do not own a S2000 but I do own a civic hatchback. I have some track experience and feel that I am a pretty good driver. ANYWAYS my real question..
i have seen and heard about your group drives and they seem to be very organized and well thought out. I am planning a "group drive" for about 12 guys here in Tampa, FL. this is my first time organizing a drive with multiple cars like this. I want it to be fun and not dangerous and try not to get in any trouble.
What are some guidelines that you set down in stone before you let loose on the streets. Mario from 2nrworks will riding along and he was telling me of the rules you guys set for your drives. Just wondering what they were so we can enforce these.
Also, if any of you are from Tampa and would like to join or help out PLEASE DO SO! We are arranging it for january 25th at night(i know i know but its the best date for everyone and its when there is less cars on the road).
So besides being at night time is there any rules or guidelines that tend to help out on these events?
Heres the link to the ride im putting together. Thanks and hopefully my first post on this forum will be a good one!

Well, I dont think this is going to be anything like what you guys were doing on your recent group drive. I was thinkin of setting like a 60mph max. And some of the roads we wont be over 30. Thanks for the reply though.
I'm in agreement with dubo - night time is the wrong time to set up a drive. All you'll see is headlights and taillights (and most likely red and blue flashing ones!). Harder to see the turns and you'll want to outdrive your headlights.

i'd love to take part in it but i hate the night idea. thats when everyones on the streets and when cops crack down on cars. we may be under the speed limit but they'll write us up anyways. just for the hell of it.

Well, myself and everyone who has signed up I believe knows that crossing paths with the po-po is a possibility. I go down these roads and :knock on wood: havent crosses paths with one on the road while i was driving "sporty".
But anyways, the cruise is happening on that date at that time. it was confirmed through a poll by the people themselves. SO that being said, can anyone answer the original question I asked(not trying to be a dick) just trying to get the answers Im looking for.
A couple I have heard:
No crossing yellow lines
some sort of speed limit
1-2 car gap between each vehicle
drvier experience(most in front-least in back)
is there anymore you guys have?
For those who do want to join come along, we ARE NOT going to be driving super crazy. Like said above its more of a "sunday drive". Most of the people have been down these roads so they have some sort of knowledge of the road.

How is it that there are 5 guests, that have been on the site less than 60 days planning group drives in the FLORIDA S2000 Forum, now?
Seriously, a group drive is WAAAAAAYYY different than just cruising around at the speed limit at night...
In light of the recent behavior of some of our members (mostly guests) I think I'll stick to fun drives by myself or with a couple of friends, and events like the weekly meets and get togethers...
These group drives are turning into RICEFESTS, no longer fun drives for S2k owners...
We as a forum are digressing, and I find myself slowly pulling away from it...
A one to two car gap?... What is that, the 1/4 second rule?
Some Sort of a speed limit?... How about the one POSTED?
No Crossing Yellow Lines?... On a "Sunday Drive"...
Most to Least Experience?
at that one.... I can just see how that conversation will go. "Naw man, I'm 18... I been drivin longer thn u, man... I was cutting the springs in my civic like two years ago, move it to the back..."
