GROUP DRIVE SUGGESTIONS
Hey you guys, long time no talk, most of you guys know me *well at least the ones that swing by the shop on regular basis*
Im Mario the other wrench at 2NRWerks
I myself have been planing on attending one of the upcomming group drives for which im reworking my suspension with, ive been talking with some of the shop regulars and they dont see why it would be a problem as long as we keep it in the back.
Now as far as The Twanksta goes, i dont see why everyone jumped on him like he posted up a thread to the forum, he simply wanted a little bit of information on how you guys do it, so he can get some basic guidelines, he never ment to tell you guys to come along, he simply wanted some guidance. For you guys to shoot him down like that is a little rude IMO, but then again i can also see where most of you guys come from.
as far as the thing with Rob goes, we all know crap happens and we cannot control everybodies actions. All we can do is hope that everyone will follow the conduct and the basic guidelines.
As far as the night drive im not too much of a fan as well, I allways wanted to go on a drive that involves more then just a straight line, and this could be a rough start to something that everyone can attend too.

the only point im making is that this site is coined S2KI.COM for a reason.
that reason is the be s2k exclusive. otherwise it would be called 's2kcivicricer240bitcheselisecars.com', but its not.
when youre having an s2000 meets, its s2000s. its not s2000s with a bunch of other cars in the back, i dont care how badass they are.
my .02. take it or leave it.

I think we (as a group) should be honored that over cars/clubs want to join our group drives. Not on a bring one bring all basis though. It shows that we are/were doing something right. Now I am not saying open the doors for all to come-this would get way out of hand and quick. It doesn't matter anyway because, from the looks of it, a new group drive is a long way from happening---if at all.
As far as the Mini Cooper, Denae IS a S2k owner-her, her husband and Rob put this event together. Now I can understand that it was not expected to follow a Mini. Don't let D and her Mini fool you, as Sueben found out she can be gone in no time---and be as safe as one could be.
Now let's give the guy some pointers from our experience and wish him well on his drive that he is trying to put together.

I seriously don't mind a few random cars here and there... but if it becomes more than a few random cars then there should be something said about it. I'm a car head, I love all cars, and if they want to come in and hang out thats freakin cool.
But I think it should be up to the main person that made the group drive to give the say if it should be a strict S2000 drive or a S2000 drive and 3-4 random cars. And if your still all bitchin and moaning about a nissan, audi, whatever car in the mix, make your own group drive and express the strict limit on S2000's only...

Here is my 0.2 cents we had only a few non-s2k's in the drive like every dive we have add in the past. My friend Phill w/ the 350z wich in a few months is gona buy a 2003 GPW as his 2nd car and Denae (mini) wich is scott's wife.
If you look back to a few years ago we have add a few Supra's, WRX sti's, Lotus, 350z, Mini and a Bike. there's a lot of peoples working on these group drive and they have done a geat job and I thanks them.
We had a total of 43 s2k's and only 2 non-s2k's give me a brake guys lets just have funn and stop this High School Drama. I know that the NSX is part of the Honda High peformance family so is the Acura integra Type R and the Honda Civic SI so if a few of them like to ride w/ us on these group drive and they Fallow the Guide line I don't think it would be a problem. It will be up to how ever setup these group drive to say Yes or No as the organizer
my .02 cents

All sounds fair, the last few responses were very mature and respectable. I did read the few threads that were started about the last "drive": before I posted this. It sucks that someone crashed, but hey shit happens when you are pushing it close to the edge. But when I go on a "drive" I am willing to except that chance, thats what gives you the thrill!
Now, with everything being said. I hope you guys do plan another group drive in the near future. this is the only place I have seen such good planning and organization for as many people who attend. I also hope that some people can set their pride aside and let a few of us non-s2k drivers to tag along for the experience. Maybe just that one event will make someones mind to go buy a s2k...
thanks for all the help though guys, good luck in the future and I hope Ill be able to have the experience of a s2ki.com group drive!

Shoot me a PM with any questions you want answered and i will do my best to give you advice as far as planning and what not. I still think a night drive is an uber-bad idea though.

Good luck and post pics when you are done or I'll ban your ass
