Default hardtop question

When you install a hardtop, do you have to remove the soft top?

So I am thinking of either the mugen hardtop or the oem and I was told that the soft top has to be removed with the mugen one? is this true with all hardtops or is OEM hardtop the only one that you keep the soft top on?

unless you are planning on installing the izzy hardtop brackets- they don't work with a soft top. as far as i know you can keep the soft top with just about every hardtop.
