Default help fighting traffic ticket

Sunday afternoon, as i was exiting walmart, i got pulled over by mr. FHP. THe infraction was "failure to stop at a stop sign."

I did some searching and decided to fight the ticket. What gets to me is the fact that i got pulled over for something so petty.

Anybody has experience in fighting this kind of traffic ticket?

What county were you ticketed in? I have fought two tickets using a traffic lawyer and it was the best money I ever spent. I didn't have to go to court or anything, he just sent me a letter in the mail saying he got them thrown out! If you're in the Tampa area I would recommend to you Dennis Lopez, but if are elsewhere in Florida I am sure there are others just as good!

Btw both my tickets were within one week of each other, in two separate counties: one was 55 in a 40; the other was "improper start" i.e, sacrificing rubber to the car gods (in my LS-T Integra).

Did you stop at the stop sign or not?

was the stop sign on wal mart property or the street?

if it was on wal mart property it is considered private property and are not subject to the laws of the street. WalMart suggests that you stop but you do not have to

Not totally true.

If the stop sign was from the exit of the parking lot to the street-yes you can get a ticket.

If the stop sign was in the parking lot, not leading directly to the street, you *might* still get a ticket, if the stop sign was placed there by the state of Florida (or county/city/etc).

Also-you can get a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot, whether it's on private property or not.
