UPDATE:

i filed for a 30 day extension on my stop sign ticket. I also asked for TRIAL BY DECLARATION paper work and apparently the clerks never heard of such terms. They gave me some other paper work thats called "affidavit of defense or admission and waiver of appearance." I am not sure if i am granted another court appearance if this one goes down. If someone knows more about this please advise.

I requested for my day in court. Is it true that i still have a chance to plead guilty and take traffic school if the police officer does show up?

I decided to pay the ticket and take traffic school to get it over with. I wasn't sure if i am able to plead guilty at the last minute if the officer does show up. And even if that was allowed, then there still might be court charges. $150 and increased insurance premium for 3 years for a stop sign ticket is ridiculous. Don't they have bigger fishes to fry?

If you do the traffic school it shouldn't show up and you shouldn't be in for higher insurance rates.
