Keep the car, like a wife "it's cheaper to keep her"

From a woman's perspective I'd say pay the approximate $2k in repairs (After shopping around for other estimates) and keep the car. There's nothing wrong in a beater and driving it until the wheels fall off, afterall that's the whole point with a beater (and a daily, right?) and it's your beater so you know it's history or lack there of. Also if you're driving that much then no point in buying new and putting all that wear and tear in a new vehicle and depreciating it that quickly. Each month without a car payment is another month of money in your pocket and in the long run you'll be saving more money versus having a car payment.
My suggestion for future reference is to take the money you would have as a car payment and bank it. Then you pay cash for your next car and you can buy new and therefore have full warranty plus get a cheaper deal on the car b/c you're paying cash!

Really good points here, Shay. I have to agree with most of the folks: pay for the service and drive the wheels off the RL (or until you just can't stand it anymore). A really good point above is that you don't want a new car for your daily driver given the number of miles you put on them. You decide you really don't like the Ridgeline after 2 years? Well, now it has close to 40k miles on it. Try getting a good deal trading that in! What do you need with a Ridgeline anyway now that you have the MDX?

Just my thoughts on matter... Yours may differ (i.e. you can be wrong if you want)

Well....I went for it. There are some hefty incentives on the Ridgeline right now and I just picked up a brand new RTL Dark Cherry and they'll be putting side steps, roof rack, detail job, and probably the clear bra and bug deflector on Friday. I had to leave ASAP because of meetings. Right off the showroom floor even. I like it a lot and will post pics ASAP.

Thanks everyone!
Shay
